A nice Edwardian silver sealing wax holder of plain polished finish with pivot spring mechanism for firmly holding the wax in place and releasing it from storage inside. It has a a plain seal on the end in order to engrave a crest for combined use as wax store and seal. Hallmarked for Chester 1909, makers Sampson Mordan & Co.

It measures 12.8cm (5") long and 2.2cm (7/8") by 1.6cm (5/8") wide across the seal. It weighs 47g / 1.5ozt.

Condition is excellent with no damage or repair and minor and appropriate handling wear. the spring mechanism is strong and holds the wax firmly.
