Charming late Victorian large "bargeware" teapot known also as "Measham" ware. Typically decorated with dark brown treacle glaze and moulded applied decoration of baskets of fruit, flowers and peacocks painted in green, blue and red. The adage reads "God Bless The Home". The lid is similarly decorated and with a miniature teapot as the knop. Large strap handle and balancing handle hold to the front.
It measures 12 1/2" high, 8" wide across the body and 13 1/2" spout to handle.
Condition is very good: there has been some restoration to the lid and finial and some damage to the small lid guards on the lip of the pot. No other damage and light surface wear.
