Very pretty Rockingham style lidded sucrier in the "square handle" shape dating from c.1830. It is marked with 416 in red. Decorated in the typical gaudy style with beautifully painted panels of flower specimens alternating with cobalt blue sections with gilded stars and stylised half suns rimmed with gilded zig-zags. Small panels of salmon pink with gilded diamonds sit around the base between them. Flowers include tulips, morning glory, rose, aster and chrysanthemum. Scroll shape handles to the side on the shoulders.
It measures 5 1/2" high and 7" wide.
Condition is very good with no damage and minimal surface wear to the painted decoration and gilding. There is a small fine stress line in the glaze coming away from the join of each handle.
