Victorian Embossed Silver Tea Caddy Canister Deakin & Francis 1899

Very pretty Victorian silver tea canister/caddy of cylindrical form with crimped edges to the lid, shoulders and base. Finely detailed repousse decoration of roses and other flowers and foliage, arabesques and diamond patterned sections, with bright cut engraving also to pick out the detail and add texture. A vacant cartouche is to one side and a further clear circle to the centre of the lid. A good quality and attractive piece.

Hallmarked for Birmingham 1899 makers Deakin & Francis Ltd.

It measures 3 3/4" high and 2 3/4" wide and weighs 114g/3.7ozt.

Condition is very good with just expected surface wear from age and use.
