Ornate Victorian Silver Nurse's Buckle Angels W & C Manton

Pretty Victorian cast silver nurse's buckle in art nouveau style with scrolls and arabesques inset with flowers and with an angel face each side framed with stylised feathered wings. Each side has the original loops on the back for attachment with a belt. An unusual and modern style twist being the plain, polished hook on the front displaying the hallmarks for Birmingham 1888, makers W & C Manton and matching partial mark on the other half.

It measures 9.5cm (3 3/4") wide and 6.3cm (2 1/2") high and weighs 39g/1.3ozt.

Condition is good but there are is a small split in the vertical bars on either side above the front clasp. This doesn't affect the stability of the piece and is minimally detracting aesthetically. Very light surface wear, no rubbing to the finer detail or hallmarks.
