Derby Porcelain Figure Recumbent Doe Deer C.1765

SOLD

Code: FA0487

Dimensions:

W: 11.5cm (4.5")H: 7.5cm (3")D: 5.5cm (2.2")

Sweet 18th century Derby porcelain figure of a recumbent doe roe deer. She lies on a rounded white base with some leaves and white daisy flowers between her legs and a matching bocage behind. Daintily painted with shades of brown with white spots and amber eyes and with black hooves and tips of the ears. Patch marks to base.

It measures 11.5cm (4 1/2") wide, 5.5cm (2 1/4") deep and 7.5cm (2 7/8") high.

Condition is very good overall to the deer itself with a small chip missing to the tip of her right ear and possible touching up of the black enamel. The bocage is quite reduced from it's original size and has a few usual small chips to the remaining leaves and petals. No restoration and light surface wear. There are a couple of small firing lines as is often the case around where the bocage meets the base and under the armpit of her front right leg.
