First Period Worcester Sevres Style Fluted Tea Bowl & Saucer

£335.00 Approx $422.45, €390.9

Code: FA0347

Stunning early Worcester fluted tea bowl and saucer, c.1775, decorated in polychrome enamels in a Sevres style pattern of puce garlands of flowers and green reserves with under enamel black diaper pattern and framed with gilded border and droplets. There is also an unusual feature to the tea bowl of a small fancy bird painted on one side. The saucer purports to be previously of the Zorensky collection but has lost its sticker (a saucer identical to this one is documented as being part of that collection).

The tea bowl measures 4cm (1 5/8") high and 7cm (2 3/4") wide. The saucer measures 2.2cm (7/8") high and 12.5cm (4 7/8") wide.

Condition is very good but there has been a repair/restoration to a section of the wall of the tea bowl which is as close to invisible as any work I have come across, only detectable under a magnifying lens. The saucer is fine and both pieces have light surface wear only.
