Stunning large Dresden porcelain pot pourri vase by Carl Thieme, c.1900. Lovely neoclassical urn shape, set on a round pedestal on square socle base, the lower body is fluted, then steps out for the main body and back in again to matching fluting on the shoulders. Large, superbly modelled ram's heads on either side and finished with a pierced, domed cover with pine cone finial. The whole is beautifully painted in bright pastels in varying bands of floral panels, stylised leaf borders and blue and gold patterns, along with lots of fine gilding. An sumptuous piece, superb for display from all angles.
Marked to the base.
It measures 15 1/2" high, 8 1/2" wide across the rams and 6 1/2" wide the other way.
Condition is excellent, with no damage or restoration and minimal surface wear to enamels or gilding.
