An unusual small novelty Edwardian silver 4 slice toast rack with seated dogs forming the ends. Simplistic form with pierced and engraved detail to define the legs, ears, eyes and tail, I think they are likely to be Labradors, spaniels or similar retrievers. Thick silver bars formed to match the outline of the dogs with a diamond handle and set on little bun feet.
Hallmarked for Birmingham 1908, makers Levi & Salaman and also marked on the other side with design number RdNo535527.
It measures 3 ¾” high, 3” long and 2 1/8” wide. It weighs 64g/2.1ozt.
Condition is very good with no damage or repairs and very light surface wear.
