Stunning George III silver teapot by Peter & William Bateman. Elegant form with reeded bands around the shaped body and chased detail around the rim. Set on 4 ball feet, with a sweeping spout and curved, square topped handle. A simple engraved "C" is to one side. Carved ivory finial and 2 small ivory bands sandwiched into the handle to reduce heat conduction.
Hallmarked for London 1809, lovely full set of clear marks to the base.
It measures 11 1/2" spout to handle, 5" wide and 6 1/2" high. It weighs 619g/21.9oz/19.9ozt.
Condition is excellent with very light surface wear; there is just a small split to the underside of the finial.
