A very sweet porcelain coffee can from the Sampson Hancock Derby factory, copying the classic Regency period Derby Dresden / wishbone shape handle. Adorable hand painted decoration, inside and out, of wild strawberries and ladybirds and other pretty bugs. This can was also part of a special commission as it is personalised for "Joan" delicately painted in a script of tiny blue and pink flowers. Gilded rim and foot and accents to the handle. Red S&H mark and also the WL initials for the one year ownership of William Larcombe in 1916 before partnering with F. Howard Paget.
It measures 6.3cm (2 1/2") high and 6.7cm (2 5/8") rim to rim.
In excellent condition with no damage or repair and minimal handling wear.
