A pretty John Rose Coalport cup and saucer in the "antique" shape, also known as Old English more generally with a mazarine blue ground with gilt framed reserves well painted with garden flowers in bright enamels and ornate gilt decoration over the blue ground. The outside of the cup has a running border in underglaze blue and gilt. Unmarked, c.1820-1825.
The cup measures 9cm (3 9/16") rim to rim and 5cm (1 15/16") high to the rim. The saucer measures 14.8cm (5 3/4") wide and 2.5cm (1") high.
In excellent condition with no damage or repair and minimal handling wear.
