A nice Coalport tea cup & saucer in the London shape decorated with their version of the Japan pattern number 796 in underglaze mazarine blue, red, salmon and green enamel and lots of gilt detailing. Very similar to Spode's famous 967 pattern. The cup marked inside the foot rim with the pattern number. c.1815.
The saucer measures 14cm (5 1/2") wide and 3cm (1 1/8") high and the cup is 9cm (3 1/2") rim to rim and 5.2cm (2 1/16") high to the rim.
In excellent condition with no damage, repair or restoration. The surface is finely and evenly crazed. Very minor handling wear.
