Unusual Derby porcelain coffee can and saucer with a stylised imari design in a kakiemon palette of mazarine blue, red, green, turquoise and purple along with gilded detailing.
Red mark to the base of both, c.1815. Reference: “Derby Porcelain” by John Twitchett, plate 327 for a large photo of an identical example.
Condition is very good with no damage or restoration. The saucer is finely crazed all over but no discolouration. The can has a little crazing either side of the handle but also no discolouration. Light surface wear: there is a little wear to the gilding on the lower band running around the bottom of the can and a little less to the band at the top and to the rims of each. No discernible wear to the decoration inside the rim.
