SOLD

A Derby porcelain dessert plate, ornately decorated with gilt on a white ground with a large central reserve very finely painted, most likely by George Robertson with a landscape view of two men fishing on a river in a rural landscape. Red painted mark to the base and "In Wales" in script. c.1810.

It measures 22.2cm (8 3/4") wide and 3cm (1 1/8") high.

In good overall condition: there are two tight hairlines which have been stabilised with traditional staples to the reverse and are minimally noticeable from the front. The surface is finely crazed. Very minor handling wear; just a bit of rubbing to the gilt on the rim in places.
