A pretty Coalport London shape coffee cup decorated in pattern number 136 with an imari Japan type design in a kakiemon palette with a bright turquoise and apple green enamel alongside an orange red and underglaze mazarine blue. Ornate gilt decoration fills the background, edges the panels and decorates the "mon" type flowers. It comes with a saucer but this is heavily repaired. Unmarked, c.1815. Pattern number 136: Reference Coalport & Coalbrookdale Porcelain, Godden, plate 55 for a tea set in this pattern.
It measures 6.2cm (high to the rim and 7cm (rim to rim). The saucer is 13.3cm.
The cup is in very good condition with no damage or repair and minor handling wear. The saucer as mentioned is heavily repaired with a couple of small losses at the rim but essentially displays well.
