Stunning early George III (1760) silver sugar caster by John Delmester. Baluster form with superb embossed and bright cut engraved decoration of roses, foliage and scrolls around the body and foot, including an abaresque framed vacant cartouche. The pull off lid has diagonal patterned piercings and engraved bands and finishes with a pagoda knop.

Hallmarked for London 1760 to the base and outside flange of the lid although the latter has been understandably rubbed by virtue of location.

It measures 6 ½” high and 2 ½” wide. It weighs 175g/5.6ozt.

Condition is excellent with no damage or dents and light surface wear good and appropriate for age and use.
