An early 19th century Staffordshire pottery pedestal mug modelled as Bacchus with a grapevine wreath around his head. Decorated in bright enamels with a naturalistically painted face. Inside is a well modelled surprise frog. c.1810
It measures 12cm (4 3/4") high, 9cm (3 1/2") rim to handle and 6.5cm (2 1/2") rim to rim.
Condition is very good with no damage or restoration. Some light handling wear appropriate for age.
