Stylish Victorian silver plated spoon warmer shaped as a nautilus shell set on cast rocky base, the lower part of the shell wrapped with seaweed. A shaped hinged lid and pierced fleur de lys thumb rest.
Marked to the lid for Roberts & Belk, Sheffield, mark dating for c.1880. Underneath the thumb rest of marked with the model number 1263.
It measures 15.5cm (6 1/8") high, 16.5cm (6 1/2") long and 9.2cm (3 1/8") wide. It weighs 570g.
Condition is very good with no damage or repairs. There has been some plate wear to the lid and the sides but still a very handsome and useful piece.
