Super set of 12 French art deco silver plated knife rests by Stephane Prudhomme in their original case, dating from c.1930. Of straight sides rectangular form, brushed finish, each is cast to depict a stylised scene from one of Aesop's fables. They include: the tortoise and the hare, the ant and the grasshopper, town mouse and country mouse, the wolf and the lamb, the two pots, the fox and the stork, etc.

Each is marked with the caduceus mark with SP initials for Stephane Prudhomme.


They measure 3 1/2" wide, 1" wide across the angled front, 11/16" high and 7/8" deep.

Condition is very good with no damage or repair, a little surface wear and touches of rubbing to the plate at the corners on a few. The box is in good order with no damage but some yellowing to the velvet and satin.
