A handsome early Georgian silver salver of hexagonal form with a stepped piecrust rim with scallop shell devices and set on three hoof form double scrolled feet. It has an engraved crest of a rampant lion, head reguardant. Hallmarked for London 1745, and makers mark for the salver specialist Robert Abercromby.
It measures 22.8cm (9") wide and 2.8cm (1 1/8") high. It weighs 457g / 14.7ozt.
In very good condition with no dents or splits. One foot appears to have been repaired at the join, this is neat and of no material consequence. Light surface wear. A very nice example.
