18th Century Sevres Porcelain Lidded Sucrier / Sugar Bowl 1754

Lovely Sevres soft paste porcelain melon fluted sugar bowl and cover with entwined handle with leaf shape terminals. Beautifully painted with fine floral sprays and with bright blue and gilt borders around the rims and foot.

Marked to the base in blue enamel with date letter B for 1754 and painter mark "h".


It measures 14.8cm (5 3/4") long, 11.3cm (4 3/8") wide and 10.8cm (4 1/4") high.

Condition is excellent with no damage or restoration. Minimal surface wear, just a little to the gilding on the inside rim of the bowl just at the 4 points of the flutes where the lid fits. There is a section of firing pits to the glaze inside the base of the bowl.
