Code: FA0579
Dimensions:
An unusual German silver table ornament of a figure of a cockatiel parrot, naturalistically modelled perching on a tree trunk. Fine definition to the modelling, the figure has hinged articulated wings and a removable head.
Hanau silver marks to the base with the maker's mark for Gebruder Neumann, c.1910.
It measures 14cm (5 1/2") high, 6.5cm (2 1/2") deep and 4cm (1 1/2") wide. It weighs 136g/4.4ozt.
Condition is very good; the very tips of a couple of wing feathers have been nipped off and there is a tiny pin-prick hole to the lid behind it's right cheek. Light surface wear only, the marks are a little rubbed but fully legible.
