An attractive Liverpool porcelain sauce / creamboat from the Philip Christian manufactory with ornate shaped and gadrooned moulded rim and double scroll handle with decorative spurs. Moulded decoration to the sides with arched reserves framed with vertical panelling. Painted in polychrome enamels with oriental style "fancy" birds in a landscape on each side and flowers to the inside and out of the spout and inside the base. Puce enamel picking out the details on the rim and the handle. Unmarked, c.1770.

It measures 15.5cm (6 1/8") long, 8.2cm (3 1/4") wide and 9cm (3 1/2") high.

In excellent condition with no damage, repair or restoration and very minor handling wear. There is another identical sauceboat available if a pair is required.
