A very attractive and unusual Edwardian silver sauce boat in an art nouveau style, of quatrefoil lobed form with domed belly and reeded rim. Set on 4 stylised paw feet with layered lobed terminals in similar quatrefoil shape and an organic shaped raised handle with split strap with trefoil shape terminals and concave thumb rest. Hallmarked for Birmingham 1907, makers E. S. Barnsley & Co. (Edward Souter Barnsley). A registration design number also stamped to the base.
It measures 17.7cm (7") long, 9.8cm (3 7/8") wide and 12cm (4 3/4") high. It weighs 226g / 7.3ozt.
Condition is very good with no damage or dents. There are a couple of tiny pinhole marks to the top of the handle which may mean there has possibly been a repair in the area but it is very minor and professionally done if that is the case and nothing to detriment either looks or use. Minor handling wear.
