Pretty Georgian silver salver with a piecrust and scallop shell border and set on 3 hoof feet. Later engraved decorative band framing a small and attractive monogram formed by scrolling vines. 

Hallmarked for London 1739, maker John Robinson II.

It measures 16.8cm (6 5/8") wide and 2.5cm (1") high and weighs 251g/8.1ozt. 

Condition is very good with no damage or repairs. Appropriate signs of age and use particularly to the detailing of the rim including rubbing to the detail of the scallop shells and a few other minor surface marks to the piecrust section. The later engraving and the hallmarks are lovely and clear.
