Sweet true pair of George ! Britannia standard silver trencher salts of octagonal form with curved waist and oval dish.
Both hallmarked to base with Britannia and the lion's head, date letter D for 1719 and maker's initials for James Rood.
They measure just over 3" by 2 1/2" wide and 1 5/16" high and weigh 114g/3.7ozt.
Condition is very good; on the inside of one there looks like possibly a small patch of solder in one corner but no external marks at all so it may be a strengthening rather than repair if it is in fact anything at all, please see the second last photo. No damage, just some surface marks to the inside of the bowl as you would expect. They have initials engraved to one side.
