A pretty Ridgway porcelain dessert pate with shaped rim and ornate surface moulded decoration: the white reserved centre area is framed with raised scrolls, arabesques and floral sprigs. Three large unusual shaped frames each mounted with a coronet coloured with salmon enamel and gilding. The outer edge in underglaze mazarine blue, also has a moulded diaper pattern, picked out in gilt, and small quatrefoil reserves painted in salmon enamel. Very finely painted garden flowers in bright enamels decorate the centre and all finished with a gilt rim. Pattern number 893 painted to the reverse. c.1820-1825.

*(This pattern is also found on tea wares with the pattern number 2/852 and 2/835)

It measures 22.5cm (8 12/16") wide and 2.1cm (7/8") high.

In very good condition: there is a short tight hairline to the rim which can only be seen on the reverse and the plate still rings perfectly well when tapped. No other damage or repair and minor surface wear, mainly just to the gilt on the rim and some of the arabesques on the outer border.
