Code: FA1355
An attractive large porcelain plate by John and William Ridgway, c.1825. Originally part of a tea service, slightly dished with a shaped rim. An ornate gilt frieze frames the edge with a gilt saw tooth border over bands of underglaze mazarine blue intersected with small reserves painted in a buff enamel, over-gilded, and leading to large floral pendants dropping down into the large white central reserve. Finely painted with garden flowers in bright enamels. The pattern number 2/1865 is painted to the reverse.
It measures 23.3cm (9 3/16") wide and 3.3cm (1 1/4") high.
In excellent condition with no damage or repair and minimal handling wear. The surface is very finely crazed from manufacture.
