A fine large bow porcelain meat plate of octagonal shape painted in underglaze blue in the Chinese style with a central image of a stylised lotus flower and bamboo set with a border of diaper panels and flower heads. Painted foliate sprays are on the walls of the reverse and marked with decorator number 22. c.1760.

It measures 32.8cm (12 7/8") wide by 23.5cm (9 1/4") deep and 3.8cm (1 1/2") high.

In excellent condition: two small rim chips to the reverse, a nick to the corner at 2 o'clock and a tight glaze line coming off it extending just down the wall (please see the final photograph). Some minor fridging to the glaze on the rim here and there and minor appropriate surface wear.
