Code: EA0730

SOLD

An unusual and very stylish art deco novelty silver hat pin holder/stand in the form of an umbrella. Set on a bound, weighted base, the umbrella balances on top with nicely cast folds to the material and rods. A little twist of silver forms the pommel on the handle. Inside the body, a small frame sits around the handle allowing support for the hat pins, but could be used as a posy vase if you wished.

Hallmarked for Birmingham 1922, makers Harrison & Hipwood. It also has a registered design number 688376 to the side.

It measures 7 3/4" high and 1 1/8" wide. It weighs 61g.

Condition is very good, there is a small bruise to one side of the base but no other damage and light surface wear from age and use.
