A very pretty silver mustard pot by George Nathan & Ridley Hayes with pierced decoration of circles and ellipses reserving stars and suns and two pierced borders running below the rim and above the foot creating a delicate rolling scrolled design. All over bright cut engraved detailing. Beaded rim and foot and similar cast decoration down the handle and over the thumb rest and pagoda shape hinged cover with finial. Fitted with a blue glass liner. Hallmarked for London 1894. It comes with a well matched spoon, London 1877.
It measures 7cm (2 3/4") high, 5.7cm (2 1/4") wide across the body and 8cm (3 1/8") including the handle. Total weight of the pot with liner 166g, silver weight 78g / 2.5 ozt (including spoon 86g / 2.8ozt).
In excellent condition with no damage, dents or repairs. A little wear to the beading on the rim and handle and some rubbing to the marks but the engraved decoration is nice and crisp.
