Dimensions:
A sweet little Meissen porcelain teapot with pastoral scene of a seated couple to one side, and a large floral arrangement on the other. The shaped reserve is framed in gilt with the outer area towards the rim of the pot and cover decorated in a blue-green ground with an overlapping scallop shell effect in a dark blue. There are a couple of delicate bugs dotted about and a small orange rose on the spout. Gilt rims and decoration to the handle and spout. The cover has a shaped flower bud and leaf knop, also gilded. Crossed swords mark to the base.
It measures 11.7cm (4 5/8") high to the handle, 13cm (5 1/8") spout to handle and 9cm (3 1/2) wide. It holds 1/2 a pint /280ml.
Condition is very good with no damage or restoration. Surface wear is minimal overall, just a little wear to the knop and the side of the handle as you might expect. There are 2 slash marks in the glaze on the base but they are not where they would be usually to suggest a second, they are both below the mark and one is right by the rim. However, there is a tiny amount of excess clay on the foot rim which causes a very slight wobble so please be aware.
