A charming 19th century Meissen figural group of a girl seated on a clearly very tame recumbent goat holding out a section of grape vine with the goat's head between her arms eyeing up the grapes and a gourd lying at her feet. A boy stands beside her playing a flute with a hod full of grapes stood behind him. Representative of Autumn from a series of the Seasons. Blue crossed swords mark and impressed and incised marks under the base, c.1860-1880.

It measures 15.2cm (6") high and 13cm (5 1/8") by 9cm (3 1/2") wide.

In very good condition: a small chip to the underside of the back of the boy's hat and to the underside of the goat's hoof, neither of which can be seen on display. No other damage, repair or restoration bar a couple of minor losses to the vine leaves and some shallow chips tucked away on the underside of the foot.
