Pretty mid 19th century Meissen small cup and saucer of lobed form with shaped edge rimmed in gilt, each set on 6 stalk feet. The bodies are beautifully painted with small floral sprigs and butterflies in a myriad of bright pastel enamels. They are further decorated with applied mulit-coloured flowers and leaves and the cup is finished with a split handle formed as a twisted band of twigs tied at the bottom with a pink ribbon. Crossed swords mark to the base.
The cup measures 4.3cm (1 3/4") high, 7.5cm (3") rim to handle and 6cm (2 3/8) rim to rim. The saucer is 2.5cm (1") high and 10.3cm (4") wide.
Condition is excellent with no body damage or restoration and just a couple of very small chips to the encrusted detail and minimal surface wear.
