Charming Victorian majolica game pie dish by Minton formed as a woven basket entwined with oak leaves and topped with suggestions of what maybe inside: a rabbit, duck and a blackbird. Turquoise ground inside to the bowl and lid.
Impressed date cypher mark for 1859.
It measures 14" long, 9" wide and 7 1/2" high.
Condition is very good; there is a small repair to the tip of the duck's wing and some fine hairlines showing to the underside of the lid which cannot be seen under the layers of mouldings to the outside.
