A lovely quality set of 6 Victorian dessert knives and forks, all in silver, with beautiful art nouveau pattern handles each with a small armorial of raised arm through coronet holding a flag.
All pieces fully hallmarked both to the handles and separately to the blade / shaft for Birmingham, makers Elkington & Co. The forks are dated 1896 and the knives 1897. They are also all marked "PATENT" and have a registration number RD206202.
The knives measure 21cm (8 1/4") long and 2cm (3/4") wide and the forks are 18cm (7 1/8") long. They weigh in total 553g / 17.8ozt.
Condition is excellent with no damage or repairs and light surface wear. All marks are clear, the registered design number is slightly rubbed on some but it is at "holding" point on the handles so to be expected. They are good and ready for use.
