Stylish rectangular silver dressing table box with curved corners and stepped curved lid set on 4 cabriole shaped legs. Velvet lined inside with a gilded finish inside the lid. The lid has an attractive engraved decoration within a shield shape of a stylised ship on the sea with flags including a rampant lion.
Hallmarked for London 1927, makers Robert Pringle & Sons.
It measures 11cm (4 1/4") wide, 7.5cm (3") deep and 6.7cm (2 5/8") high. It weighs 247g/8.0ozt.
Condition is very good with no damage or repair. The legs have been reshaped slightly as is often the case and the box stands well. Surface wear is light with a very slight rubbing to the hallmarks.
