A large first period Worcester porcelain coffee cup of fluted shape with on-glaze enamel printed pattern "L'Amour", engraved by Robert Hancock and rarely printed in lilac with a gilded rim. These prints are almost always in jet black and only occur occasionally in other colours such as brown, puce and lilac. Dating to c.1765, it is unusually marked with the under-glaze blue fretted square (on-glaze printed wares are not usually marked in this way).
It measures 7cm (2 3/4") high and 7.2cm (2 7/8") rim to rim.
In excellent condition with no damage, repair or restoration and minor gilt wear to the high points on the rim.
