First Period Worcester Sevres Style Teapot, C.1770

Fabulous early Worcester teapot with fluted body and lid with flower form knop. Beautifully painted in the Sevres style with shagreen effect reserves in between dainty puce flower garlands, all highlighted with gilding. A moulded leaf sits on the lid also.


It measures 20.5cm (8") long, 12.5cm (5") wide and 16cm (6 1/4") high.

Condition is excellent: there are 2 small hairlines to the lid, one across the stem of the flower and one just under the flower (about 1 cm). No other damage or restoration. Very light surface wear and 2 small firing flaws to the body.
