Pretty and unusually decorated early Worcester tea cup and saucer with a wet blue ground with simple rounded white reserves painted with flowers in Compagnie des Indes style in a delicate palette of pink, purple, green and turquoise with a touch of orange. Restricted gilded decoration, scalloped edges to the reserves and feathery leaves and graduated lines up the underside of the handle terminals.

Crescent mark to the base of both pieces and provenance stickers for the Whitehouse Collection, number 405.

The saucer measures 13cm (5 1/8") wide and 2.7cm (1 1/16") high. The cup measures 5cm (2") high, 8cm (3 1/8") rim to rim and 10cm (4") rim to handle.

Condition is very good with no damage or restoration. Minor handling wear and there was a floral spray painted inside the cup base that has been worn.
