Very nice stylish pair of brass fire dogs designed by Dr. Christopher Dresser and made by Benham & Froud. Towards the arts & crafts end of the aesthetic movement in design they are formed around a ribbed globe with tubular tripod legs and the tops in a cow horn design with further ribbed detail.
Marked to the bottom 1E, these are a well documented design by Dresser/Benham & Froud dating from c.1880.
They measure 6 1/2" high and 7 1/2" wide.
Condition is very good with just some light surface marks from age and use.
