Sweet and rare pair of Derby porcelain miniature figures of a boy and girl dressed up as Turks in fine exotic type robes, c.1775. Finely decorated in bright polychrome enamels, with gilded highlights and stood on a small scrolled base with naturalistic decoration and applied flowers.

Incised N63 to base, known as Small Turks in the Haslem list.

The male turk measures 9 1/2cm (3 3/4") high and the female 9cm (3 1/2") high and they both measure 4cm (1 1/2") wide and deep.

Condition is very good with a couple of points to note: The female has had some restoration to her right arm and hand and the bobble of her hat and the male has had a good repair to a clean break to his right wrist. Surface wear is very light and the enamels lovely and bright.
