A small Derby porcelain figure of a seated shepherd with bagpipes with his dog seated beside him. Set on a footed scrolled base decorated in bright enamels with gilt highlights, incised model number "No 301" to the underside of the base. c.1820.
It measures 13.5cm (5 3/8") high and 7.3cm (2 7/8") by 6.4cm (2 1/2") wide.
Condition is good: a chip to the front of the base and to the plume at the front of his headdress. The very tip of each end of his pipe has also been chipped and coloured in. No restoration and light handling wear; some enamel flake losses to the green tree stump and the odd other small flake here and there (shoe, knee, dog).
