Art Nouveau Henri Lapeyre French Paris Silver Dressing Jar

Art Nouveau Henri Lapeyre French Paris Silver Dressing Jar

Code: EA0854

SOLD

Stunning little French vanity jar fully hallmarked with Minerva inside the lid and lower mount for renowned Parisian silversmith Henri Lapeyre with his mark of a spoon between opposing crescents and H and L either side. Top quality cut glass with raised curved lozenges around the walls and star cut base, mounted with a solid silver hinged mount with very fine engraved detailing around the side and as a ring around the lid. Inside is gilded and with the original glass stopper.

Dating from 1895 to 1923. It has engraved initials to the lid.

It measures 3 1/2" and 2" wide.

Condition is very good: a small bruise to the lid and a tiny nick to the bottom of the glass. Light surface wear. I think the outside was also gilded originally but this has now worn. The lid clasp is good and crisp.
