A large art nouveau silver trinket box and cover of circular shape with embossed sides and domed top with scrolls, arabesques, diaper pattern sections and flowers and foliage against a pinprick background. The cover has a vacant cartouche in the centre. The base rim and cover edge are unusually formed in a crimped gadrooned style. Hallmarked to the base and partial marks inside the cover for Chester 1897, makers James Deakin & Sons.
It measures 9.2cm (3 5/8") wide and 6cm (2 3/8") high and weighs 140g / 4.5ozt.
In very good condition with no damage, holes or repairs and minor handling wear.
