Fabulous large French Faience jardiniere by Ulysse Besnard (Ulysses Blois) dating from c.1860. Glorious deep blue ground with white dragons, scrolls and foliage and a central painting of the salamander symbol of King Francois I. The sides have moulded lion's head handles and the whole raised on 4 ball and claw feet in ochre. Super quality statement piece.
It measures 50cm long, 30cm wide and 17cm deep. Condition is excellent.
