Very nice Victorian silver "Claret" decanter label as an engraved scroll set amongst finely cast vine leaves, bunches of grapes and flowers.
Hallmarked for Birmingham 1870, maker John Gilbert. It comes with a belcher link chain.
It measures 6.7 (2 5/8") wide and 2.9cm (1 1/8") deep. The drop from the top of the chain to the bottom of the label is approx. 11cm (4 1/4"). It weighs 14g/0.5ozt.
Condition is very good with no damage or repair and minimal surface wear.
