An unusual silver mounted cork bottle / decanter stopper with a circular ring finial engraved "Brandy" to one side. The silver runs through the cork secured with a silver disc at the base. Hallmarked for Birmingham 1841, maker Henry Manton.

It measures 9cm (3 1/2") high and 3.1cm (1 1/4") wide and the stopper and 2.5cm (1") wide at the top of the stopper section in terms of bottle / decanter neck size as the maximum suitable size for practical use. A good gauge of silver it weighs 30g.

In excellent condition: the cork clearly shows some signs of use but is still firm and good for use and could be replaced if required as the fixing goes through the centre.
