A pretty Spode bone china coffee can with a mid blue underglaze ground with vase and mirror shape reserves painted with oriental style flowers and shrubs in a kakiemon palette of red, green, turquoise and gilt. Further rich gilt acanthus leaf style decoration over the blue ground with thick gilt frames to the reserves, rims and handle. Marked with pattern number 1916 in gilt, c.1810.
It measures 6.5cm (2 1/2") high and 6.3cm (2 1/2") rim to rim.
In very good condition; there is a short diagonal tight glaze line inside the rim. The can rings well. No repair or restoration and very minor handling wear.
